Raw brown sugar 600-1200 Icumsa
Raw brown sugar from cane is also known as ICUMSA 600-1200 and is produced after the first crystallization of sugar cane. Raw sugar is coarser than white sugar and its color is brownish. In terms of weight, raw brown sugar from sugar cane, when fully refined, contains approximately 70 percent white sugar. In natural brown sugar there is more molasses which gives it a higher mineral content.
Raw sugar is the product from which refined sugars are obtained. It is also consumed in some parts of the world as a food in its own right. The bulk of the world's sugar exports is made up of raw sugar, and the most notable exporter of raw sugar is South Africa, which exports VHP raw sugar in massive quantities, often exceeding twenty million tonnes, each year.
